This surreal old mine cut diamond ring is new to our collection, and we absolutely adore her.
This old mine cut diamond is simply stunning, weighing a generous 1.08 carats. It is discretely held in an arrangement of six white claws which perfectly complement the stone. The claws have been thermally tested as platinum. From the way in which the diamond has been cut, we date the stone itself to the Victorian era, while the ring itself is later, dating to around the 1930s or 1940s.
The ring is finished with a simple D-shaped band, which tapers beautifully from 2mm at the back, down to 1.2mm at the front as it meets the diamond. The hallmarks have rubbed, but the 18 carat mark is still visible. The ring is currently sized to a UK 'K1/2', US 5.5, but could be altered.
