These stunning antique amethyst, pearl and diamond earrings are new to our collection and are simply heavenly.
The amethysts are of beautiful quality and are discreetly claw-set in 18-carat yellow gold settings. Each amethyst is carefully suspended from a pearl-mounted ear stud by a row of five splendid rose cut diamonds to either side (totalling 20 diamonds across the pair). The diamonds have been expertly rub-over set, and finished with a millgrain edge, giving the earrings that exquisite antique look.
The earrings are unmarked but have been tested as 18 carat gold and platinum. We date them to around 1900 and believe, based on their construction, that they are likely English-made. Together, the earrings weigh 3.58grams, with each earring measuring approximately 2cm in length, and each amethyst measuring 8.8mm in diameter. The earrings are secured at the back with gold butterflies.
