This gorgeous seed pearl set crescent brooch is simply precious. Dating to around the turn of the century, we believe this piece is late Victorian or early Edwardian.
The brooch is set with 29 graduated split pearls, each with a spectacular orient. The pearls have been expertly and minimally set into the brooch. To the side is a beautiful gallery, showcasing the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that was put into creating this antique piece. The brooch's diameter is 2.7cm, and the width graduates from approximately 1mm at the ends, to 4.3mm at the centre. The brooch weighs 5.28grams and secures at the back with a brooch pin and hook.
The brooch has a worn mark on the reverse, but has been thermally tested for 14 carat gold.
