We have fallen in love with this gorgeous cornflower blue sapphire and diamond 1930s engagement ring which is new to our collection.
The beautiful claw-set round sapphire weighs an estimated 0.50 carats, and is a stunning cornflower blue colour, giving the ring an almost etherial look. The centre stone is set with a total of ten scintillating Old European cut diamonds to the sides (five on either side), perfectly complemented by the silver tone of the platinum setting.
The ring is finished with an 18ct yellow gold band which bears the inscription 'BJM - ST 28-8-48' suggesting that this is European made, and was inscribed a decade or so after it was first made. The engraving is a beautiful piece of history, but it could also be removed if the wearer prefers. The total weight of the ring is approximately 2.68 grams. The ring is currently sized to US 6.25.
This is the perfect choice for that special someone who would cherish a ring out of the ordinary. While this would originally have been made as an engagement ring, we think this would also make a beautiful right-hand ring.
