Introducing a charming 1899 scarf clip that promises to add an unparalleled elegance to any attire.
Crafted in warm 9 carat gold, the front is richly engraved with flowing scrollwork that runs symmetrically from either side towards the centre, while the reverse remains plain and highly polished. The hand engraving is deep, with soft curves and delicate detailing that reflect the meticulous craftsmanship of the Victorian era.
At the centre sits a lovely oval amethyst, measuring approximately 6mm x 4.5mm, in a soft lilac-purple hue. It is grain set within a beautiful star like mount, allowing the facets to catch the light from every angle while still sitting neatly within the engraved panel.
The shape itself is gently curved to follow the line of a scarf or cravat, and the inner side reveals the original hinged clip mechanism and pin, cleverly engineered and still wonderfully secure.
Today, it can still be worn traditionally with a scarf, or styled more creatively: on a lapel, a silk tie, or even fastened to a ribbon.
