Dated 1876, this mid-Victorian sapphire and diamond cluster ring, finely crafted in warm 18 carat yellow gold, is a fantastic piece of art that carries with it all the character of its period.

At the centre sits an oval old cut sapphire of a rich blue colour, estimated at approximately 0.25ct. Its tone has a softness to it, which feels true to the age of the stone.

Encircling the sapphire is an elegant cluster of eight old mine cut diamonds, totalling approximately 0.25ct combined, each set in delicate claws within open back settings. Together, the stones depict a compact floral cluster that sits low and comfortably on the finger.

The mount features carved and pierced shoulders that add beautiful detail to the overall design.

Fully hallmarked for 18 carat gold and dated 1876, the ring remains a genuine example of Victorian craftsmanship, making it an exceptional treasure for antique collectors.

Finally, the ring measures approximately 9.25mm at the top, tapering down to approximately 2.35mm at the back, weighs 4.09 grams and measures a UK finger size 'K', but could be altered upon request.

Engraved 27th Nov 1898. The engraving is a beautiful piece of history, but it could also be removed if the wearer prefers.
