You cannot help but fall in love with this beautifully detailed Late Victorian coronet cluster ring, dating to the 1890s and crafted in rich buttery 18 carat gold.
At its heart sits a deep blue pear shaped sapphire weighing approximately 1.00ct, outlined by a striking halo of 12 old mine cut diamonds following the shape of the centre stone.
Above the cluster sits one of the loveliest details of the piece, three additional larger old mine cut diamonds in rubover settings, arranged like a small crown or tiara above the sapphire. The diamonds display the unmistakable brilliance unique to hand cut stones and together weigh approximately 0.80ct in total.
The slim gold band keeps the proportions elegant, while the warm buttery tone of the gold, a quality so often found in antique jewellery, contrasts beautifully with the cooler tones of the sapphire and diamonds.
Finally, the piece weighs 4.76 grams and is currently a UK finger size 'W 1/2', but it could be altered upon request.
A truly charming English Late Victorian ring with a distinctive silhouette and handcrafted character that makes jewellery from this period so appealing today.
